In this video, I am working on an painting using the ancient medium of egg tempera. I mix my own egg tempera paint according to the traditional recipe of egg yolk, white wine, water, and dry pigment I learned at the Prosopon School of Iconology workshop I attended at the Monastery of the Holy Cross in Chicago in November 2019.

In this video, I am working on my fourth plein-air watercolor painting of the yard between my mom's house and our neighbor, a pie-shaped slice of our cul-de-sac, on May 3, 2020. I started consciously learning how to paint in watercolors after I realized the pedagogical importance of this affordable medium during my two-week field experience at Hendrickson High School in Pflugerville just before shelter-in-place orders closed schools in the Austin area for the rest of the school year.
